I am a loyal, stubborn, and intensely curious person.
I’m not the type to just take things at face value, buy into 'that’s just the way it is,' or let myself be fooled by digital algorithms. Instead, I always need to dig deeper, do my own research, and evaluate the facts for myself before making my own assessment.
For me, nothing beats doing manual web searches or grabbing a good book from the library when you know exactly what information you're looking for.

A little more about me – and filling up the side
I’m a simple guy: give me a muddy trail, my camera, and a campfire over a TV screen any day. When I’m hiking, I’m perfectly fine and living in the moment. It’s only when I get too much time at home on the sofa that I start overthinking everything.
My weight is a lifelong project and I struggle with it every day, but this is my issue. I think if you scratch on another person's surface, they've got other issues. That's life. So if you need me, I’ll be out in the woods—or maybe on the sofa overthinking.

These are just my personal thoughts, so I'm not saying I hold the absolute truth. Using AI is amazing, but it's a massive energy drain. Spending time on toy apps just to make yourself a superhero with a pasted-on face is just wasteful. It's especially true for my fellow Gen Xers, who don't get the impact of wasting resources and love posting pointless, humorless clips on Facebook. We have an old Swedish proverb: 'don't burn wood for the crows.' Gen X should at least remember that. AI can be used for so much more.
That said, I’m no better than anyone else. I might not be messing around with those Facebook clips, but I certainly lose my way in other situations. Consider this a sharp reminder to us all, myself included, to be more mindful. Personally, I’m fighting my own battle with GAS—Gear Acquisition Syndrome. In my case, it’s all that camera gear many YouTubers hype up as a 'gamechanger,' making you forget to stop and ask: what do I actually need? I’ve gotten a lot better at managing it lately, but I still struggle sometimes, that’s one of my many issues. My inner tech geek just loves new gadgets, so I easily fall for the hype. I’m well aware it won't make my photos any better, but curiosity has a way of taking over.

I think we all need to be mindful of what we consume in terms of energy and electricity. I don’t have the solution, but being thoughtful has never hurt anyone. I actually found a picture in my library of the Oskarshamn nuclear power plant, visible all the way from the northern tip of Öland.
